Bridging the sensitivity gap between the teacher-learner relationship.

Encouragement, motivation, inspiration and education are at the core of any teacher-learner relationship. When experiencing difficulties in their lives, learners often view school as a sanctuary where they feel protected, secure, heard and supported.

Socio-economic sensitivity training helps to foster and strengthen the teacher-learner relationship by helping teachers become mindful of intrinsic judgements, biases and prejudices based on personal beliefs, backgrounds and personalities.

Training is carried out by visiting schools, facilitating timely, fun and engaging workshops for the learners and teachers on a once-off or ongoing basis as part of a wider initiative. Simulation exercise can be used to give context and help the learners relate to the information imparted on them. Teachers are then able to effectively carry out their vital role within our communities by providing situation-specific support to the learners using the information and resources at their disposal.

Sensitivity training can be applied to various issues, by providing a platform to increase emotional intelligence as well as improve the way we react to situations. Are you in need of sensitivity training?
